I thought about leaving a well-written, insightful review but nah. Dev Patel is phenomenal. The film itself is probably truest, geographically to the tales of the knights of the roundtable. But the rest is ridiculous. Boring, convoluted storyline with no real stakes or motivation for the Green Knight. Comically bad score. Questionable dialogue & accents. Oh! And The Green Knight looks like Groot.

Terrible. Some phenomenal talent in the cast, and an amazing home as the setting. But, it's twisty for the sake of being twisty. No actual character development or valid reasoning behind the twists. If you care about things like...authentic, nuanced characters or a tight, rational plot, don't watch. If you love films that throw all reasoning to the wind but, but have twists! Then have at it. P. S. The "stellar" reviews are obviously fake/ paid for by the distribution studio. It's that bad. Helen Hunt is unrecognizable and the heavy-handed score doesn't fit the film.
