I absolutely loved this movie! Spoilers, obviously!
I found a few scenes odd and out of place, though! Especially for the overall tone of the movie!
It was really strange when we, the audience, were allowed to view the personal quarters of Kylo Ren.
At first it started out normal, Rey poking around in his belongs. Then, she went into a completely separate room. Presumably, at first, it would be a closet. But then she flicks the light switch revealing... honestly, very shocking. I audibly gasped as Rey did! It was a room full of pictures of Rey! They were at odd angles, like from behind bushes and windows, obviously taken by a stalker....
Rey was freaking out, and I don't blame her! Especially when Kylo appeared behind her in that connection they have. He said, "Are you mad?" And Rey looked frantically around because she couldn't process it all and she saw a pile of chewed gum and some hair. "Yes! Obviously! What the hell, Ben?!" Kylo disappeared with a red face.
Then, later, when they were fighting atop the broken Death Star, Kylo dropped a little journal. Rey picked it up, obviously, because it had in pink cursive font 'Kylo Ren ♡ Rey.' She started to flip through and her face paled. The POV of the audience slowly panned towards the book, showing us the contents. There were many hearts, and a date that presumably today. There it read, "Omigosh, I see Rey going to the Deathstar! Omg omg I just have to talk to her! I just want a kissy wissy and I want Rey to holdie woldie my fingie wingies!"
Everyone in the audience was physically cringing, especially since Kylo himself was providing a voice over.
I kinda found it odd that they would include robotic sex into this movie. It was (I think) a progressive move, because both robots are presumably self identified as males. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll just say it. The SEVEN minute sex scene between C3PO and R2D2! I mean, the tension WAS there. But there were kids in the movie theater. Hell, I didn't even know robots could do that, but J.J. Abrams sure did prove me wrong. It was extremely passionate and graphic. There was a lot of oil and battery acid and... screaming. Some kids were crying!!
Other than that, the movie was fantastic! A fun movie that can be enjoyed by the whole family! Give it a watch!
