Almost felt like a star wars tribute film with a massively inflated budget. Every time they 'payed homage' to some scene from the originals, it just left me cold and rolling my eyes. Combine that with some truly cringe-inducing dialogue and you get a film with no sense of purpose or any conceivable inspiration other than 'better not offend the die hards like we did last time.' To be fair, the actors did as much as they could given the circumstances (especially Adam Driver), but its sad to see a series that used to be driven by a director's unique vision being turned to something so sterile and safe.
