I remember this film playing at the cinema but I never got a chance to experience it with others. Almost six months after its public release, I experienced the film High Life directed by Claire Denis at 3:00 am in the morning alone and was intrigued from the first frame, partly because I had many questions. And most of them were answered. By act three there were no more questions to ask. What I experienced from watching this film is beyond asking the question of what if. The characters in the film each had to deal with their life choices to embrace an unknown future. High Life is not a stylized Hollywood film exploring space, it is a film using the solar system as the environment exploring the vastness of the unknown and known of the self and relationships. If you enjoyed AD Astra you will enjoy High Life.
