This is a terrible adaptation of the greatest, richest and more influential sci fi history arc ever. It is a absolutely marvelous production, I am more lean to see this than the new Dune. But to destroy Asimov's work this way to make it "more suitable" for the new generations is just a tragedy. 5 hours talking about Gaal Dornick and Cleon? Salvor Hardin depending on the empire to solve the first seldon crisis? Eto a woman instead of being R. Daneel Olivaw? actual trantor citizens knowing about robots? No mention of earth or Sirius sector? I dont see anything to make think that Trantor is ruled deep down by the survivors of the spacers worlds that were taken by R Daneel Olivaw when Trantor was a republic. What about the second foundation? I have not heard (it might be because this is so dissapointing that I keep forwarding it like an old VHS) anything about foundations being commissioned on opposite ends of the galaxy. Truly, if anything like a mention about first contact happened is made, I will stop seeing it. The whole porpouse of eliminating Eternity was ensuring that in the Asimoverse (yes there is an Asimoverse) Humanity were raise and expand along the Milky Way first without first contact threathen mankind expansion. Now, the series is amazing, dont get me wrong but it is just is a major dissapointing once you have read all the interconected stories since Susan Calvin up to Golan Trevize. No wonder I read a comment of one person indicating that it makes no sense on why the foundation was created all the way to Terminus. I found the adaptation great in how it is made but really, really disrepectfull towards Issac Asimov and the Asimoverse. The Foundation Extended series starts with I robot (Horrendous movie by Will Smith by the way) and end with Foundation and Earth. The post Asimov stories are good but not the same. I think apple TV should have gone with Riverworld from Philip Jose Farmer to do the next best thing on TV, that it is easier to adapt and also a great story. But if you ask me between this Foundation and lets say The Expanse? The Expanse is way better. Foundation is not a story where the empire or Seldon is preponderant or even worth mentioning after Terminus is founded. The extended stories take care of how Hari develops Psicohistory with the help of R. Daneel Olivaw base on the Zeroth Law. So this is so tiny in terms of the actual asimoverse but huge if you think the GOT was "awesome". I would have called a "Diet Foundation". It should have known since the moment they didnt even used the sun and the spaceship emblem of the Empire, or I havent seen it yet. But it is something worth watching, like the 90's version of the MCU movies but in 4K and really awesone CGI. Pax
