As a super fan of Stephen King, I pride myself on reading practically every word of his written work. I also find most of the films and series based on his writing lacking. David E Kelly has done Mr. Mercedes right. The fact that Stephen King is an executive producer I believe makes all the difference. From the cast to the teleplay to the directing and cinematography, this series is one you do not want to miss. I only hope that this team continues with the saga to include Finders Keepers, End of Watch, and Holly. Please don’t stop!!

Very few Television shows draw my attention so quickly and have me invested in its characters. Jeremy Renner gives an Emmy worthy performance in every episode. This show is gritty, let there be no mistake. Each episode feels like a movie experience with a new foreground story developed and played out, all while keeping the underlying story alive and growing. Each episode pulls from me a different emotion. Anyone who truly watches television and movies for an emotional escape, all I can say is buckle up. The human condition is not exploited in this show. Rather it is given open and honest voice through the characters and the vessel’s that are its actors. Mayor of Kingstown is on the same caliber of all around excellence that is Ozark.

From beginning to end I loved this movie. I recently finished Hannibal and was looking for more Mads Mikkelson films. Once I saw Kathryn Winnick was also in this I had to watch. If you are a fan of the John Wick films this will not disappoint. This movie has everything I enjoy in a film. Brilliantly shot, characters were well developed, realistic action and blood, some nudity and a great score by DeadMau5.

I really enjoyed the surreal experience of this movie. It was haunting, beautiful and yet unsettling. Well scripted and visionary direction, along with Nick Cage’s performance make this a wonderful film. I would put this on par with Mandy and Mom and Dad in terms of Cage’s “rage” depth. I strongly recommend this movie.
