I was reading through a lot of these reviews and it seems a lot of people do not understand the material of this movie isn't based on the 1984 movie but a book written by Frank Herbert in 1965. A lot of these reviewers also don't seem to grasp that David Lynches Dune in 1984 was critically panned. That movie was good not because it was a good adaptation or good movie but due to the fact that it even had the ability to exist with how much of a radically different weird take it was that only David Lynch could make.
If you are a fan of the book series this movie will not lead you wrong. The insane attention too detail and the love that went into every part of this movie blew my mind. I watched this with my father. Dune was his favorite book series of all time reading it front to back multiple times. The movie was what he has being waiting for, for decades finally bringing what he saw in his head to the big screen.
It seems a lot of these reviewers giving it 1 or 2 stars are giving it 1 or 2 stars just to go against the crowd and their reviews also feel this way. I don't want to go into extreme detail with this movie for multiple reason but mainly because this movie will take you on a trip much like the original Star Wars (George Lucas said the Dune books were a huge influence on Star Wars) and Lord of the Rings with an also political charged story much like Game of Thrones. The fact that a lot of reviews also compare the movie to the likes of Lord of The Rings and Star Wars shows the absolute "Epicness" of this Movie.
Aside from what I have said and every other reviewer has said good or bad this movie is a piece of art I think a master piece but the best way to have an opinion for a piece of art is to look, listen or watch it on your own. Do yourself a favor and skip these reviews, go watch it yourself and figure where you stand but, I bet you will enjoy the ride the movie takes you on.
