Aww this drama was so sad. It just goes to show nothing much has changed since the 1300's in the cruel political arena of today. The suffering of citizens and the human trafficking of tribute women and young girls back then is still happening today all over the world. However the deep and long lasting love of Toghon Temür Emprer of the Yuan dynasty and his beautiful Empress K proves to be a rare occurrence within the powerful dynasties. It also gives insight into the intelligence of Empress k as she gained power with the approval of her bleoved Emporer ruling over millions of citizen. She cared for the poor introduced korean cuisine and fashion into chinese culture amongst other feats. I cried and cried in the last scene when Emporer Toghon Temur died in her arms. This drama serious is at the top of my recommendation second to Eternal Love. All the actors gave top notch performances but of course Ha Ji-won (Empress ki) Ji Chang-wook (Emporer Toghon Temür ) and Joo Jin-mo ( Gorye King Wang Yu) deserve whatever is equivelant to an Oscar :) ... Im finding Asian acting superior to western acting.
