SO impressed. I’ve watched it twice in 5 days. Casting Timothée Chalamet as Hal was such a great move. The pitch changes in his voice are impressive. They alone capture my attention unlike any other. His accent and the flow of Old English like it was fluent was so awesome. The confidence in the way he carries himself in every scene is to be envied. His stare is enchanting, mesmerizing- absolutely beautiful. He captures the audience and draws them in. It quite literally felt like someone put a spell on me and I couldn’t take my eyes off him. I love period dramas, especially ones that are historically accurate. Even though I’m aware of the historic changes in order to make the story line appealing and easier to follow, 80% of it being accurate and being intriguing is so hard to do. Because of the smart and bold move of casting Timothée Chalamet as the lead role, the goal of making the film desirable was absolutely achieved. He could have just stared intently the entire movie and it still would have been impressive. Robert Pattinson even hit the accent spot on and embodied The Dauphins arrogance and spoiled “bratness” making the character hate-able which I’m sure was the goal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 10/10
