Anyone that said this film was a 5/5 is lying through their teeth. The storyline was all over the place and the musical numbers didn’t really fit together. There were also way too many music choices put together. The costume design and scene design were what saved this movie by a long shot. The cast had excellent voices which added to the enjoyment of the movie. However, following the storyline is hard. It is rushed and not unified. There were moments where it didn’t establish how a character came to their conclusions. And there were too many loose ends that weren’t tied up. Don Juan’s character convinces Gustafson to steal the book of inventions but has no purpose beyond that. Edison’s character had showed no significance because Journey’s character was going to do as she pleased anyway. And it’s implied that Journey is this prodigy inventor however she doesn’t invent or fix a single thing throughout the entire movie. And I was so upset because I really wanted this to be a good movie.
