LONG STORY SHORT: IF YOU'RE NOT A FIRST TIME WATCHER TO KDRAMAS, THIS IS NOT FOR U
Not really what I was looking for when trying to relive the Strong Girl Bong Soon era, and I know there's things out there that cannot be remade, but they should at least try.
The major problem was the childish behavior Namsoon was emitting, like regressed. I know she went through a rough time during her childhood by losing her parents and such, could psychologically regress her under certain circumstances, but they didn't think like that. She was raised in rural Mongolia, I can't imagine that the amount of sheep herding and outside experiences she has would result in her blubbering like a little baby in Korea. I noticed it was too much infantilization of her character from the way she dressed, how she cut her hair, and the way she kept inflating her cheeks. Her innocence can be played off without making her into a total baby with absolutely no backbone. She was all tough and mature right before she stepped foot onto Korean soil.
I skipped the whole first 4 episodes just to satisfy the urge to see her get reunited.
Her mom on the other hand was a good actress, very different from what most mothers are in kdramas I feel. Who knew?
All the side characters were disregarded, and did not care whatsoever, the underlying drug ring was nothing important. Romance wasn't important. Nothing about it was important or wow to me. The villain was hot.
