I have just seen what I consider to be the BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR so far. The movie, “Origin” is a MUST SEE movie! Please lend your financial support to this movie by seeing it this weekend and while it is in the theaters. Honestly, I was skeptical that the movie would live up to the book it is based on, the award winning, former #1 New York Times bestseller, CASTE (the origins of our discontents ) by Isabel Wilkerson. A book I consider to be a masterpiece. But all praises to Ava DuVernay! She has done an excellent job of bringing the essential elements of the book to the screen. This movie is told from the perspective and life of the author Isabel Wilkerson. We go on an intimate journey with her as she pieces together the many stories that will ultimately become the book and we watch as she also deals with devastating personal losses in her life. Those moments also contribute to the making of the book. This is a movie that every human being should see. Thank you Ava and Isabel for shining a light upon the truth that we can no longer ignore or deny!

Once again IMDb got the rating of this movie SO wrong!! 6.5/10, really? This movie deserves a 9-10/10! So proud of Coleman Domingo who gives a nearly flawless tour-de-force performance! I see an Oscar nomination in Coleman’s future! This movie brings to the forefront a little known chapter in African American history, actually American history period. EVERYONE would be so well served to see this movie! It should be part of every elementary school’s educational curriculum. And a shout out to our former President Obama and First Lady Michelle for being the Producers of this amazing film!

Nothing makes me happier than when I watch a movie that exceeds my expectations! This is a great movie a complete surprise. I had no idea about the story behind these true events. I love when a movie is not only great but reveals something about my African American heritage. Every actor turned in a stellar performance! The screenplay was excellent. I don’t watch Prime Video much anymore because they wanna charge you to watch anything worthwhile. How they let this movie slip through for free? I don’t know but well done congratulations Prime, you did the right thing!👍🏽 And IMDd underrated this movie with a 6.8/10. Don’t let that rating stop you from watching this gem! They got it wrong. Pay attention to the fact that it got a 91% from Rotten Tomatoes and I feel even THAT rating is too low! Lastly, in my opinion, Jamie Fox turned in the best performance I’ve seen him give since his Oscar winning portrayal of Ray Charles in the movie ‘Ray.’

Initially I wasn’t going to watch this movie until it was free. But when the screenwriter won the Oscar, for Best screenplay, I wanted to see it sooner than later. I was surprised at how impressed I was with the acting, the story. I came away from the movie clear that ever since human beings have walked the earth, we all want the same things and most of all…. freedom.

Wow!! Season 3 is a work of art! It has exceeded my expectations. I stretched out my viewing as long as I could, not wanting it to end. Like savoring an amazing 10 course meal each course (episode) more moving and masterful than the last. It’s not a stretch to predict that The Crown will sweep next year’s Emmys! Leave it to the British. And I thought nothing could replace Game of Thrones in my heart!😊

I am surprised and delighted so far. Just finished episode two. It’s great when a program exceeds your expectations!
