Gorgeous settings and slow pacing, which helps you think. But the story is nonsensical, poorly portrayed, and leaves you wanting more substance and maybe a meaningful plot. All in all this movie is mostly a disaster.

1. I like well-placed Western violence as much as the next person, but The English has nearly every scene filled with unbelievable violence. Just way too much, for 1890. I knew relatives that old who lived here in the West, and it was not that violent then. When a show uses too much gore and mayhem, you can bet it is deficient in other areas AND it means the show's creators dont think we are very intelligent. 2. The leads are pretty people, and act well, but it is overacted in places. Will keep watching, but i am more disappointed than entertained.

So much to like here! Interesting back stories. Plot twists. Deep, likeable characters. And the element of lightness really pulls it all together. Shades of John Wick but not as heavy. Homage to many Asian action films. And to Tarentino. Sorry they had to trash such a beautiful train though ;) What a movie!

The pace, the script, the acting are near perfect. I am one happy customer.

A very interesting idea, but full of plot holes and very poor dialogue. Stopped watching after 3 episodes.

Great acting by Portman, but I couldn't keep watching-it was too raw and painful. PS-the muzi al soundtrack is awful.
