Innocence Lives in an Eyrie is a book which presents a thought provoking tale of a teenager who lives a non-conventional life in India. The protagonist makes choices which at first seem outrageous to the reader, but as the story progresses, these choices are explained through the understanding of culture and religion. The author skillfully tells a tale of courage and perseverance. As a non Indian reader however, I was sometimes lost in slang, but was not hindered in the enjoyment of the book.
