I don’t know how so many people are giving this movie good reviews. Don’t waste your time or money on this hunk of junk. The opening is cute and actually gave me some hope for the rest of the film. But shortly after that everything devolved into chaos. It suffers from the same flaws as suicide squad before it. Too many characters we don’t know and don’t care about a stupid plot about some diamond? Jokes that fall flat 90% of the time. One of the characters literally says “need a hair tie?” In the middle of the fight which is not only unfunny but is also put there to pander to the female empowerment theme that pervades the movie. And while there’s nothing wrong with this it gets a bit ridiculous to watch 5 skimpy females twirl around knocking over 200+ pounds thugs and police officers with ease. The story makes absolutely no sense. The movie doesn’t even get to the inviting event until about 45 minutes into its runtime because it’s too busy tripping over its own feet trying to throw in as much color and quirkiness as possible. Even Harley Quinn’s character is unbelieveable and gets extremely annoying in the back half of the film. Half the scenes don’t make any sense like the grocery store scene for example and the whole film has a weird bluish green filter over it that mutes a lot of the colors they were so desperate to throw in. The ending of this movie is even worse, at the end 5 characters we barely know all team up together and the last 20 mins of the movie is just one long fight scene that ends in a lot of gore. You can do violence well, look at Deadpool, but the violence doesn’t add anything to the story but violence. And violence for the sake of violence isn’t interesting anymore. After a making a movie like joker it’s saddening to see DC go right back to where they started. The movie feels pretty much like the female version of justice league.
