I loved Suncatcher the coming of age story of two boys. Set in Ceylon, in 1964 before the country becomes Sri Lanka, the parents and other adults in Suncatcher are also finely drawn. There is politics in the background (newspaper headlines or snatches from the radio) and lots of fun and fishing in the lives of the young protagonists Kairo and Jay.
