As a huge fan of the hunger games trilogy, I was excited to read, however sceptical of how Collins would portray a villainous character like Coriolanus in his lead up to becoming the character that we all know and love - or hate - from the hunger games series. Brilliantly written and constructed, with deep and thrilling references to the original series throughout, the book was the perfect prequel. It uncovered many mysterious from the original that were left open to the interpretation of readers; as well as leaving some an open mystery, which, hopefully may be uncovered in future books. These revelations were perfectly executed in a way that was both satisfying and thrilling. I can only hope that the genius author that is Suzanne Collins will go on to write more hunger games books. An overall brilliant read, which i managed to finish in a matter of days.
