This used to be a good show with plenty of insight and knowledge. Barry Cassidy had a patient interview style that often allowed pollies and others to say more than they intended, often to their own embarrassment. He'd ask well-crafted questions, and let the interviewee talk.
David Speers asks the obvious questions, then talks over the interviewee and interrupts before the victim has a chance to answer, or develop a theme. Lately, some of them have had to ask him to let them finish their answers. Today's interview with Chris Bowen was like that, and he does it to most people of any political persuasion. He has a whole hour to tease out ideas, but tends to prefer his own voice, even above some of his panel of journalists. He's not delivering the quality discussions we have come to expect. If he can't modify his style, he's going to lose me, and probably a lot of other folks.
Lift your game Speersy!
