A film not for everyone…however, if you’re interested in the human condition, this is a window into one family. I’d give it ten stars if they were available. Beautifully written, perfectly cast, outstanding performances by each actor. It’s a painful look at one family’s dynamics while splintering into divorce; the sorrow, selfishness, pain, love, adjustment, longing, anger, is all there. Each family member struggles with the changing picture of their family. No satisfying ending, this film is a brief look at the process of family unit breakdown, but still there are humorous moments. Highly recommended but not everyone will appreciate this piece of art.

A thoughtful, beautifully written, excellently acted, important film with real humanity and humility. I’m guilty of seldom giving thought to the personal challenges of physically disabled people, callously not even dwelling on other than the very practical aspects of those challenges; however, as I age and watch my physical self become less able at the general tasks of life, this movie hit me squarely. The questions of life presented are worth the time and reflection. Teenagers would benefit from exposure to this film as would anyone contemplating their own interiors, place in the universe, relationships, daily life.

The film was moving and heartbreaking. Reading some of the reviews left a sense of almost anger at shortsightedness of the reviewers. This film showed an understanding of guilt, tremendous loss, the improbable circles life sometimes leads us through. As someone who has personally lived through many of those mysterious circles, the ultimate message is actually hope, acceptance, maybe even the realization of love outside of oneself. Beautifully filmed, touchingly written, masterfully acted. Watch the film and see if it introduces you to something within.
