This movie is absolutely chaotic and I think that's beautiful. I respect that the producers knew they wouldn't be able to make a serious film, so they embraced the cringe. Their references are still relevant, jokes are nicely spaced out so they don't get annoying. Generic plot points like 'the siblings with dead parents take care of each other' were there, but not made the center of attention. When I say I was forced to the theaters opening night watching movie against my will, I meant it. When I say the audience clapped at the end of the movie, I mean it.
