I love the acting which is very professional. I enjoy the scientific discoveries and inventions and the puns made on the set concerning these. I love the attention to detail of everything in each episode to make it appear as if it is taking place in the 1800's. The script is well written and intelligent frequently bringing in social historical factors relevant during that time period. I enjoy the equal focus on women's issues and struggles in a male dominated society where women have not yet obtained the right to vote; indeed they are considered personal property of their male relatives, be that husband, father or other extended family male. I also enjoy the equal emphasis on women being perpetrators of crime, including murder, as too often only men are considered to be serious offenders. I would like to see this series continue for a very long time.
