I watched the movie then came to check the reviews and they are exactly what I thought it would be. Overanalyze rather than just enjoying the fact that we got another MATRIX movie. I don't know who LANA is. I just enjoyed the previous MATRIX movies as a kid and had to watch this one. Now to my review....WATCH THE MOVIE! the title does say RESURRECTION. And if you watched the previous movie then you would be wondering what happened to Neo and Trinity...That was answered. Would it have been great for them to wrap everything up with this movie knowing that the original stars are getting older and not everyone will be excited to see new casting if they produce another movie? Yes. SPOILERS...It would have been great to see the machine city fall. But we only got a verbalized implication that they will be doing that. Alot of new people but Keenu Reeves and Carrie-ann Moss played their roles as if the movie weren't years apart. The chemistry was still there. Yes the movie lacked action compared to the first three but it does say RESURRECTION! The slow pace to get their memory back as well as understanding that the machines basically brought them back to life played into the storytelling as well.

What's up with the storytelling aspect of movies!! So many plot holes and untold stories. Let me save you if you actually watched the original then this is going to be a disappoint (they tried to modernize it! Happy for that buuuttttt bad storytelling got this one) They used a few scenes from the original and the infamous line from Nancy saying "We are the freaks". However in this one the girls remained friends. And Lily is the only one connected to the previous gang. We know nothing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the other three girls. NOTHING! They are just there, no parents! Nothing! Let me start with the biggest one which is the LGBTQ+ representation. Timmy was suppose to be Chris in this one. But they made him gay (which was good in my opinion) but here is the downfall. Timmy is crying over Issac (he is coming out to the girls) then the main character (Lily) goes and cast a love spell on him so he falls for her!!! FOR HER!! Like what the honest hell was the writer thinking?! Due to the writers, Lily had no relationship with her "step brothers". We barely see the brothers even (there was so many scenes that that pointed to something but didn't go anywhere). Either way, Timmy dies the next morning and the girls blame themselves well they blame Lily (as they should). I really hated the fact that she tried to make Timmy fall in love with her when he clearly liked her step brother. And the villain which just happens to be the step father (Mom's boyfriend), there is no reason he is the villain. Otherwise from his "men are supreme" mindset. No reason! Did he date her mom to get to her? we'll never know. He was barely seen in the movie too which downplayed his importance. The same thing was done to his sons. Especially Jacob and Issac who was closer to Timmy, yet we didn't even see how his death affected them. Just Lily. I could go on and on but the original is undefeated in every aspect. They probably just needed better cameras back then but the original was better.

I was going to say what's the point of the movie but I read the comments and still didn't find anything. Horror but not scary at all. And clearly ruined the storytelling because they wanted to give the movie a deeper meaning. "When is your birthday?" "No, it was three days ago" "I wrote it in your script" Lol!! Miss me with the bullsh*t. If they wanted to add a twist, they couldn't have written it better. He hears a story about a bottle and a bridge. So he blows into an empty bottle found on a bridge? Did the spirit thing kill the people because they didn't believe or what? There are plot holes. The prologue of the story just hangs there? like....this man heard something, followed then said "if you touch me, you die". His friend touches him then he sleeps for days until they off each other. Lol! Then, it jumps to a cult! How did this man manage to have a child? All he does is sleep. The movie doesn't even deserve a star. I think people are forgetting what a movie should be doing. STORYTELLING!!

Other than the atmosphere and the music, this movie was rather lame for an horror movie. It was like watching Truth or Dare only this had something to do with sex. I read the reviews before watching and I still decided to watch because I wanted to see. What I hate is that unlike truth or dare, there is no reason for this to be happening. You are just watching a bunch of friends trying to help their friend and still doesn't help their friend. This would be better has an STD commercial The camera shots were not bad, it was not different from any great horror movie. The music helped to bring everything across better. And the fact that this thing is just chasing you down to have sex with you....How is that concept great? I recommend watching Truth or dare! Not this!

I watched all of the final destination movies and solely liked them because of how each death seemed unrealistic yet inevitable to the character. How everything in their environment was manipulated perfectly. I never understood why anyone on the police force couldn't pull files to realize that the events were happening again. There was an attempt at connecting everything between the 1st and 2nd movie but the ones after that had absolutely no connection with each other unless you noticed the school's being close to each other. Etc More could have happened with the movies but if you like seeing people die just because death is inevitable. Then its perfect.
