I was disappointed, honestly, but hopeful for the future of this show. It reminded me of the tonal schizophrenia of The Clone Wars TV show (often from one episode or series of episodes to the next, but here, crammed all into one episode). I had that sinking feeling as soon as the blue guy started talking... and then he just kept talking.. and talking. I’m afraid this guy will go down as one of the bigger character mishaps in the franchise. It was as if he was from another show (something between the part of Star Trek that non-Star trek fans mock and Seinfeld). It was a rough way to start and if it wasn’t Star Wars, I would have turned it off. But I stuck with it, and am glad I did. The episode got better and better as it went along, and I am excited to see where it goes. I just hope that the show does not rely on strange comic attempts to soften the violence and dilute the morally ambiguous waters that a show about bounty hunters will inevitably wade into. I will watch this with my 11 and 14 year old this Thursday. I’m fascinated to see how they respond to it.
