The book is based on a harsh subject; however it is written in a more impartial manner. I have not decided how I feel about it. The one thing I do feel is that no-one should profit from such a terrible, terrible story. If the book makes a profit, grant the writer a reasonable salary for telling the story (whose only benefit could be to provide an example, underscore the reason that teachers, Dr. Etc have an obligation not only to identify potential abuse, but also to report it.) I hope the families of the deceased victims received at the very least an apology for the shabby police-work but hopefully there was accountability and overhaul of the department. The psychological explanation at the end was somewhat interesting but really felt slanted toward excusing the children and ex husband for being participants in the horrific abuse and murders.
