This movie was such a disappointment. I had been looking forward to watching this movie after watching Halloween 2018. Even though it doesn’t surpass the original, the fact that they brought back Jamie Lee Curtis AND John Carpenter’s influence in the movie it was still pretty good. This movie is hot garbage and I will tell you why you shouldn’t waste your money trying to watch this like I did. First of all, Jamie Lee Curtis is incapacitated the whole movie and is not involved in any actions scenes. Then, the writer’s failed tremendously by incorporating the original survivors from the original film into this movie. What seemed like a glaring opportunity to highlight on the survivors and how life has been since their initial encounters with Michael Myers, they dropped the ball by introducing them briefly and then killing them off. The movie doesn’t even reference the original second Halloween, and the writer’s tried to denounce Michael having any relation to Laurie, and that his tireless pursuit has nothing to do with Laurie. Like come on literally that is the bases of the entire original Halloween. BUT, what pissed me off the ENTIRE MOVIE, was the idiotic underestimation of Michael’s capabilities ESPECIALLY by the survivor’s who literally witnessed his strength and immunity but still chose to make stupid choices by trying to beat this man to death, stabbing him, and shooting him as if this was never done before. NOBODY tries to go for his head or decapitate his body. And of course, Karen trumps the movie by just being Karen. A pointless, useless, dum-witted character who at one point advocates to let the “law” handle Michael. As if she completely forgot all of the officers and firefighters that were slain trying to capture him. John Carpenter should’ve had more control over this movie. As you can tell I am a Halloween fanatic and after watching this movie I felt like I had to leave a review expressing my disdain (which I’ve never left a review before until now).
