Absolutely amazing film. I was pretty confused as to why so many critics seemed to be slamming it so hard, but I believe it’s the sheep effect, where once people hear someone else say something is bad, they go into the experience with that mindset from the jump, also believing it to be bad. If you like Godzilla movies even remotely, you’ll have a blast with this one. If you watched the 2014 film and felt that the monsters needed more screen time, you’re gonna love this one. The only way I could possibly see someone not enjoying this movie, is if they came into it thinking it was going to be a cerebral statement on society with profound elements and grand philosophy. No. It’s a Godzilla movie. And a damn good one at that. There were so many classic callbacks, I couldn’t keep from slapping my friends in the theatre. Now go watch it and enjoy yourself.
