"Fatso" -literally everyone in the movie
even though it's a big shill stunt for Coca-Cola, it's a 7/10 overall (WITH MAJOR FLAWS HOWEVER).
let me explain:
-the humor is absolutely laughing-balls-off funny (but i don't know if it's because of bad quality or immature jokes i don't quite remember)
-it's so bad it's good (we had a good laugh), and the occasional subtitle mistranslation adds to the comedic factor
-BUT the plot is soo easy to predict, and Toño's relationship with "Figure" Estrada is confusing and jumps around.
-the Toño-Maru relationship was cute, but a certain class clown expressed his disappointment at the lack of a kiss in the end.
-the scene transitions range from a black-out screen to a jump to a decent (for lack of knowledge in terminology) move-behind-an-object-and-emerge-zoomed-in-transition. Camera work quality alternates in quality as well.
-the plot goes very fast, with events (tournaments) in the movie separated by what seems like a few days at most.
a few cons:
-"Figure" Estrada mentions an injury that prevents him from playing, yet gets invited to play 1st Division without any mention of said injury whatsoever
-random Messi-esque showoff kid (an obvious analogue to "Figure" Estrada) appears out of nowhere pushing a hand truck, flexes his futbol skills on Estrada, and even though having no obvious teamwork skills, is invited to play NATIONALLY at the Azteca stadium.
-similarly, Maru's soccer skills improve drastically (from breaking a window with the ball to star player) without ever participating in any practices except as a cheerleader (it's an obvious heroine/deus ex machina but there's no warrant for it)
-OF COURSE there's the farting kid (thankfully farting jokes are at a minimum)
-Toño being the "captain" of the team despite almost never scoring
-there's some side conflict with the disapproving dean/principal/"Mummy" (xD) but that's not as developed
last notes:
-the "kill!" mentality of the Dynamos'(?) coach is hilarious
-as mentioned before, "Chubby" is "bullied" every frame (name-calling)
-Toño throws some mad shade at the white kid
-Toño gets friendzoned really hard you have to feel bad for him
-"Hormiga" has some mad tricks up his sleeve, including a scorpion
-one of the visiting kids scored with his head against our team which was dummy disrespectful
-Coca-Cola shilling is obvious
-graveyard scene was sort of sad
SCORE: 7/10; humor balances out major flaws
