I loved the original film and always felt they needed to make it into a franchise and thought this would never happen. I came into this new movie believing it was going to be a remake that has the potential to destroy the original like they have tried on so many other movies... It is not! This was a great start to the franchise they had a lot of information to put into this movie and they skimmed through the things we have seen in the previous movies so that they can focus on the story arc and characters. Great Job! **Spoiler** Read some other reviews that reference unfinished stories or plot holes, but I don't see that! he has children that he has been raising in his own image and the "plot holes" relate to the children, so awesome more ammunition for future movies (almost Covenant/The Craft Crossover). and the individual girl's backstories would have cluttered this movie so they focused on the friendship to leave more for future movies. I believe they have made a perfect sequel to reboot this movie into an awesome saga, and left me wanting more just don't keep me waiting as long this time around. lol!
