I feel like Kerry Washington would have fit the lead role better. Why do all the characters suck? Octavia Spencer does not fit. And the actor who plays her dad just seems too young. Something is off about him…it just gets more and more unbelievable. And the second season just gets worse.

In response to those reviews that found it cheesy, I get you, but hey it’s entertainment! Sure KB’s curls were bouncy and perfect and her skin was aglow, but you can find that sort of thing in any great movie or tv series! IDK, I guess I noticed all of the “flaws” of Hollywood, but ignored them and chose to focus on the storyline. Which, BTW, was excellent. I hope there’s a season 2.
