Seems the creators of this show have a few Daddy Issues, an ironic fetish for Authority and some sort of need to validate their sexuality; in a word: Human like anyone else. Yet, placing these values in a public and pervasive media feels like they — as talented as they are— have an Axe to grind that may send sparks in their faces that prevent and obscure their judgement. Or, I could be wrong, just saying. This brilliant work should be seen by many who can judge for themselves…me I am just a simple fellow in this Algorithmic maze…

A series from the heart; lots of critics here who most likely have no clue what truly goes into crafting a production; sure, some awkward moments on execution take place but they are crafted in sincerity; at the center of Gravesend is a project driven by the love of the mob genre, colorful expression and a tribute to those stars and celebrities we have all come to admire and wish to see more of as we watch.

Existentialism 101. Beautiful Art Direction, Great Spider (Voice homage to H.A.L from 2001: A Space Oydessy) and Sandler who must be searching for meaning beyond his tenure in Hollywood; a simplistic plot that constantly reminds the audience of its meaning and importance — a thematic dash of Bowie’s “Space Oddity”, a smattering of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” are shaken and not stirred with passion, deprecation or elan; sort of like Sandler’s previous forays and mixed stylings — e.g “Punch Drunk Love”. Adam’s life in the spotlight is admirable and this effort deserves to be lauded as one of his “hey, I am trying here” best…

Loved his anger and irony earlier in his specials; but in this outing he was a tad acerbic and seemingly outraged because it was expected; his eyes were terribly bloodshot and he seemed off center (high def be damned). Truly nothing lifting in his ideas about his own son being raised in the bravado of being Italian or his father’s prostate issues. He considers 49 as old so this seems absurd and fearful. A great comic now falls into the comfort of his fame and new vistas of Hollywood projects to come and we await his return to a form that may never materialize.

Robert Pattinson'a Batman is such a marked contrast to past portrayals -- distinctive, hulking, brooding, conflicted -- saying more with his slightest glance that even Christian Bale at his best could not achieve; underplayed villains abound -- retro fitted to suit the expectations of an audience that demands a bit of self-control in these areas after a bill of fare in last outings that either bordered on the absurd, think: Jim Carey's Riddler or Danny Devito's Penguin or simply carried the entire film as Heath Ledger's Joker did in 2008. Playing as a film noir detective movie, brings a comfort level of well wrought nuance -- Zoë Kravitz as the eponymous Cat Woman is both a tribute to Halle Berry's miss-fired attempt at the portrayal as it is an anathema of other Cat Women as far back as the Tv Series; kudos to her!!!! A bit long and lingering so much on Pattinson's aforementioned brooding -- the action sequences seemed tagged on but nonetheless vital. A truly good if not great film!! Oh, yes: Collin Ferrell as The Penguin -- Who Knew!!!

A tad self-conscious, lots of ambitious execution and a sincere effort; I gather the term is “A hot mess” but “Hell,” the filmmakers seem to be saying, “its our hot mess.”
