I don't normally write reviews, but this tab is still on my phone so I thought why not
[Contains spoilers, this would be best read after watching unless you don't plan on watching]
To be fair, I had quite a lot of fun watching this film as my brother and I love steampunk. My favourite thing about this movie is how countries—small or large—are on big war machines kind of thing.
However:
- When characters died, I didn't feel much remorse
- The people that made Shrike were only described, never shown (although it would probably be gruesome)
- The drive plugging into Medusa took way too long; the suspense was not really worth it
That is only a few “however”s, but I don't want this review to be me only talking the flaws.
Lets talk about some positives now:
- I never got up while watching
- A London-er ending up going against London (for a good cause) is pretty neat
- Shrike was cool 👌
- Lots of action
- Centipede looking vehicle
- Drinking dirt water
- [Tw]inkies
Is this the worst film? No way, in fact I encourage watching this at least once as many do consider this film a favourite of 2018. Do I recommend it? Only if you're very very very very patient or just want to spend time watching a film or two or both.
If I could give a rating, I give this film a 5.6/10
