Just got home from the pictures! Been waiting to see this film for months. It's not really scary, (I was kinda hoping to be terrified) - about 4 jump scares, which is cheating a little bit and why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Some good built up tension sections, however, and some great acting from Finney's sister and Ethan Hawke. Well filmed, good shots, good editing, good plot and script interesting enough to watch again on Netflix (or whatever) for sure. Well done Blumhouse. I always watch those movies, this was a good'un

Subtle humour, grows during the episode without realising until your dying laughing. I also have Chinese family so was hilarious on a different level to me. Funny cos its true. My nan is like that :D

Thought I would hate it, but loved it. Very thought provoking and realistic. Loved the effects and kept me hooked all the way through

I used to watch Monkey on video tapes, which was brilliant, so was worried if this would live up to it, but although it's a different vibe, it's really good! Watching it with my 9yo son and he loves it too. I grew up on a diet of Chinese and American Kung Fu movies and this is very watchable imo

Awesome. It starts off like that stereotypical teen horror movie in the woods but the second half was riveting, nothing like the first half and I couldn't guess where it was going for ages. Gonna watch this many more times. (And to think I've had this film for ages but was put off by Evil Dead thinking they were the same film) Btw it is not scary (for horror lovers like myself) just gory in some places but its fast moving and very entertaining despite not being scary. Plus Chris Hemsworth is always worth watching.
