Alison Blomkamp

I was in awe of this book about our relationships with trees, nature and our world. I felt quite emotional towards the middle of the book and read the second half more slowly, wanting to savour the real essence of the story.

Charming and gracious, I savoured this book. The beguiling Count, was a gentleman of a bygone era, accepting of the predicament the Bolsheviks left him in to [presumably] undertake for the rest of his time. I also found it refreshing that the author did not bog the reader down with the machinations of WWII.
