It is difficult to watch. However, it shows real poverty in America. It shows the demons that some families are faced with. Remember this is only a movie, the real stuff people are dealing with daily is difficult to escape.

My God! Pausing throughout, just to get through the series. It was so real, so informative and so shocking. I didn't know if I would make it through some episodes. I had my sons watch it. "When they see us" they do not see you as they see other boys and teens. "Boys will be boys" don't apply to you. You are seen as an adult when you are only a teenager, even at the age of 14. You aren't seen as merely horse-playing, but you are threatening and dangerous. When They See US, that's what they see.
