Today i watched the movie The Sound Story by Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty who fullfilled his dream of recording the sounds of Thrissur Pooram. The story explain the hardship of a sound designer who faced the difficulties with the invested business man having selfish nature. Finally the sound Engineer sucessfully completed the assigned project by himself especially for the visually impaired who experience their feelings first then seeing it through their imagination. Sound plays a major role to enhance the visualization. We can enjoy a film when the Visual and Audio mixed at the right resonance. The sound story proved the right mixing of both Visual and Audio. Resul was explored every aspects of the pooram in his film. Peruvanam Kuttan Marar the lead percussionist of the ilanjithara melam explained realistic way when Resul ask about their life after the pooram. It was very joyful to watch the elephant parade at the pooram and the introduction of Vibha Namboothiri, the first female mahout of Asia. Resul clearly draw in the film about Art, Culture and Traditions are being treated as commodities. The film is in a high level standard without Masalas. Hat's Off to Resul, who puts ups an excellent performance. You are natural and genuine !!! The sound story comes an exceptional film in the middle of Masala entertrainers with noisy backgrounds where the superstars defeat 10 to 15 opponents at a time - imaginary world... I strongly recommended to watch the film The Sound Story with your family. Resul Sir we expect more from you... Sky is the limit... Regards to Resul & Team.
