Simulacrum

This show is not for you, if you are strongly disgusted by the idea of relationships in which there is an obvious power imbalance in terms of age, and social status. If you can get pass that, or are okay with the idea of power imbalances in relationships, and you would like a short show that is not excellent, but still enjoyable, then this show is for you. First off, the acting is superb. All the teenagers behave like actual teenagers, and when the emotions bits come in, the actors and actresses all act realistically. Secondly, the story itself is too predictable to be considered masterful, but it is still an emotional rollercoaster, although a very small one because of the length. Thirdly, for the audience, we get good dose of what the characters are like. So the characters are well-fleshed out for a 6-episode series. Every significant character is important in their own unique way. Regardless of how you think about relationships with power imbalances, the relationship portrayed in the show had quite a bit of chemistry. My only criticism is that the creators made the relationship based mostly upon sexual attraction, instead of emotional attraction, which seems very shallow. It didn't make me care about the relationship as much. SPOILERS AHEAD For example, the first couple of "dates" between the two are just them having sex. END OF SPOILERS And finally, the ending of the story is very bad. It ends on a cliffhanger, and in a very ambiguous, and nonsensical manner too. If it were not for the poor ending, I would've given the show a rating of 4/5.
