5 out of 5. "Crime Saga" movies are usually either incredibly watchable works of art or badly acted boredom inducers, sometimes utilising the same actors in both... The Irishman sits near the top of the 1st group and in time will no doubt climb higher. The greatest "gangster actors" of colour film times are gathered here, Stephen Graham rightly amongst the ranks. If Pesci don't get an Oscar for this performance that will be a genuine crime. Ray Romano can act. who knew? (OK Get Shorty fans knew) My only hope is for a 4 and half hour extended directors cut to appear in a year so... For fans of Goodfellas, The Godfather Trilogy and Once Upon a Time in America...
