I really enjoyed the performances by the three main characters. The dialogue was so natural and flowed so easily, that I felt like I was eavesdropping on their private conversations. Stanโs character Frank was the embodiment of a โbad boyโ struggling to do the right thing, all the while looking at Woodleyโs character Daphne like he wanted to devour her. Dornan expertly portrays โgood guyโ Jack. Heโs stable, attentive, honest, and seems genuinely infatuated with Woodleyโs character Daphne. Their relationship is believable, and comfortable, and I found myself rooting for them. When the inevitable happens though, I was unsettled by Dornanโs character Jackโs long term reaction. I didnโt question his decision regarding his relationship with Daphne or Frank, but felt it went against his character to walk away from the situation entirely.
