My daughter-in-law likes to read and recommended this book to me. She gave it high marks and thought I would like it as well. I was blown away at the writing and the boldness in which this story was told. It took me through every emotion and I was drawn back to it every chance I got. This was an insight to WWII I hadn't realized or been aware of before. I am grateful for the story. We both agree never to take coffee for granted again! A must read.

I’m sure she’s happy to have a job, but maybe Frances Rivera should at least pretend to be affected by the massive loss of life and heartache so many have had to endure during this COVID-19 crisis. Perhaps when she introduces or closes the story where so many have either lost their lives or are fearful of not getting treatment in time, she could stifle that big smile, looking like she just hit the lottery. I’m not expecting a tear, but maybe be a bit somber.
