Really confused by my feelings for this book. I love Stephen King and have followed him since my teenage years. The book was too pedestrian for me for the first half of the book then a new character was introduced then bingo, I was hooked. With somebody to bounce off the second half flowed a lot more easily. The climax seemed a bit forced and quick but I wasn't bothered about that to be honest. I was more interested in Billy and Alice's relationship. Stephen King is known for his poor endings and acknowledges this about his books but I found this ending very satisfying and had tears in my eyes at the end. You have to care about the characters in books but I only cared about Billy after Alice came along.
