Well articulated, the movie explores the India of the colonial past. The script has an even mix of commercial and artistic content. It has successfully highlighted a number of social issues and stigma prevalent in the Indian context. Dowry, child marriage, patriarchal mindset and abuse of women has been all explored, most importantly the movie has also struck the right chord by narrating the story in an enigmatically dark and increasingly overwhelming lust throughout the course of movie.
