The acting was bad. I’m on the critics side with that one; especially with the girl who plays Alison, her acting was by far the worst. This show honestly reminded me so much of “The Last Thing He Told Me” which, was also, not very good lol Mystery/murder books that get adapted into a show or movie are either a hit or a miss, and this case, Saint x was a miss… for the most part anyway. The premise of the plot was intriguing, but I think the show was just very lazy with it. The acting from most of the cast was a mess. It felt like the casting director was lazy, and picked random white teenagers that had never acted before and just said “ok, now act!” I honestly believe the acting was far better from the Caribbean characters. That’s just my opinion though. Overall, I see what direction the director was trying to go, but in the end, it didn’t execute very well. I DO like the message behind the show though. That sometimes, we will never get the answers to what happens to our loved ones. It’s best to just move on, rather than stay stuck and stagnant in our evolving lives. I’m giving this show 2.5 / 5 stars

The show was fine, but the book was better. I gave the book 3.4 stars. I feel like it would’ve been much better as a film because the book is really short. Why they chose to make it a mini series I don’t know why. There are two things that irk me: 1. They strayed a little too far from the book. And I know that the book and film/tv series shouldn’t be taken as the same thing, but I couldn’t help it for this one. The book is so short, and has rich information with just a short amount of pages, that there simply was no reason to leave out those things. 2. The acting was fine. I did like the girl who played Bailey, but there were times it felt like she was trying a little too hard to emulate a moody teenager. But it didn’t bother me so much as the guy who played her boyfriend. Oof… I would cringe every time he would speak. It felt like the casting director didn’t have enough time to pick just regular, semi-well known actor, and just chose a rookie. Plus, he was way too old to play a high schooler. But the acting from Julia and Nikolaj were the shining stars here. Their on-screen chemistry is really great, and very believable. In my opinion, of course. A lot of people had issues with Julia being too expressive with her furrowed brow thing, but it honestly went with the character. And also, all actors have their little trade mark expressions. So do regular people, and I just don’t understand people sometimes when they have an issue with things like this. I’ve only ever seen Nikolaj act in Game of Thrones. Nothing else, and I was really excited when I saw that he would take the role as Owen. He really is beautiful and plays the loving father and devoted husband in this series extremely well. I feel him and Julia Gardner could be together in real life. They are that good. But that’s just me fantasizing lol Over all, It was just OK. Really, my main issue is with straying from the book. It just did not have to leave out so many flashbacks that were important to explain who Owen is, and how he and Hannah’s relationship formed. It was too short. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I turned this show on for background noise while I was cleaning my apartment, and I literally stopped cleaning because I became entirely invested in it and finished it all in one day! Didn’t think I was going to like this show at all, turns out I’m officially obsessed. Jenna Ortega as Wednesday is just *muah* chefs kiss! The whole cast and ensemble is terrific. Catherine zeta Jones as Morticia is spectacular, and my favorite character out of the whole show is Thing!! Never in my life did I think I would fall in love with a freakin hand as a character (lmao) but I’m entirely here for it! This show has my heart, and I’m crossing my fingers for season 2!!

I was honestly a little skeptical going into this show, but I ended up LOVING IT! Family Buisness is most definitely worth the watch! Loved every second of it. It’s like a combination of Weeds and Modern Family put together in a way. The humor is sooo funny, and the cast is perfection! This is one of those hidden gem shows on Netflix and I’m really happy I stumbled upon it! You won’t regret watching this!
