It's not even a solid 1 star.......I've been so bored watching this and confused by the inability of Martin, Short, and Gomez to connect in these roles. I'm old and I grew up watching Martin and Short - I think they have it in them to do MUCH better work. So I blame the director and the writers - looks like there are about 40 writers - "too many cooks spoil the pot (or plot)". The idea of a murder podcast has great potential but the jokes were sooooo lame and the plot so full of red herrings that it was meaningless. If you just like watching these guys, fine......if you expect to laugh or even grimace at bad puns, look elsewhere. Too much schtick, not enough meat. The main characters act like they haven't a brain cell between them - and not in a fun 3 Stooges kind of way. I agree with one reviewer who compared it to "Murder She Wrote" - bland, no style, boring. Throwing random celebrities in didn't help the plot or their careers. Fun creative murder mystery it is not.

I love Ted Danson and it was fun to see all the long lost actors but this was serious schmaltz........Hallmark would be proud. I was expecting a fun romp through the retirement home with lots of crazy characters but this was essentially juvenile. Come on - retirement homes are FULL of intrigue and nasty Junior High cliques......plenty of gossips and horny old people. They should have had fun with this theme - instead they reminded all us oldies (75) what a drag it is to be old. The acting was fine - it's the writing that turned us off. Dementia is a horrible disease and many people I know have suffered with it - but this was supposed to be a comedy.

The story line was never clear........we watched all 6 episodes in the vague hope that it would be clarified.....nope. There's no way I can recommend this series as confusing and inane as it was. It feels like 6 hours of wasted time.

We normally don't watch period pieces but the description sounded like more fun than "period" - and it was great fun! We loved and hated the characters and laughed out loud! Great acting, great writing, and unexpected twists and turns in the plot - that's what kept us watching. An unexpected delight!

Truly disappointing. Unlikeable characters and a story line (and photography) that borders on The Blair Witch Project. I had high hopes for season 4 because the 1st season was excellent and the next 2 were good. We watched it to the end, thinking it had to get better or have a stunning conclusion - nope. It was great to see women in the lead roles but really?? - get some better dialogue and give me women I can admire. Too many thinly disguised political views and obscure references to Inuit culture which were never explained. I don't understand all the glowing reviews unless political correctness was more important than quality. Sad.

Season 1 was ok - a bit unsatisfying but Season 2 was way too much like a soap opera. The characters are good but the story-telling is disjointed and confusing. At least they tied up most of the loose ends in the last episode. Plus MHZ didn't subtitle the parts spoken in English, just the Finnish so it was hard for us to hear all the dialogue.

The book was so wonderful and the series was pretty bad. The acting was great but the story-telling lacked cohesion and left me wondering why they left out the great parts of the book. It was like someone took the heart out of the tv series and I was very disappointed. I hope anyone else who was not quite satisfied with this mediocre tv rendition will read the book.

We really liked it - surprised but Rob Lowe carries it off. I only give it 4 stars because there's no season 2 where he can get Oleg Krasnov. Sad.

The 3 Stooges could've done better.........great actors, horrible writing. Too trite for words. Even my husband who loves "camp" or "B" movies considered this below his level of tolerance. Absolutely boring and predictable after you realize that every gag was something you've seen a million times - and done better.

Histrionics like a soap opera.........though I liked all the characters except the girlfriend who is probably a good actress if the plots weren't so Hallmark and banal.......I can hear the sad violins playing in the background. Sad because I've loved Kris Marshall in almost everything. Get new writers!!!!! Make it a fun sarcastic rom-com or cop-com but leave the soap on the editing room floor........
