Reading these reviews, I can’t take anymore! Did no one appreciate any deeper meaning & symbolism in this film?
First, Redford is not the only “character” in this! The other big star is Shipping. You know, like the giant shipping container that initiates his entire struggle? And then the shipping vessels that pass him at the end of his struggles?
Ever heard of allegory? Parable? Fable? Legend? Oracle?
It’s the story of modern civilization, consumerism & man’s disregard of nature, as much as it is about survival on the open seas. Moving on to all the keyboard maritime professionals. Watch the end credits there sparky, you’ll see all of the many consultants & seagoing experts who contributed to the movie. I’m calling this one, I’m going to trust them over your asinine remarks.
And where are you reviewing Fast&Furiless?
This is why great movies are so rare. Lack of appreciation that comes from careful watching.
