Even in previous days, this film is one that could/should have gone directly to cable and streaming. If I had gone to a theater and paid cash to see it I would have asked for my money back. It’s silly, violent, and juvenile, which does, I suppose, make it just like the video game. For what it intends to be, I give it two stars, but for my own viewing taste it’s deserves none. Sweaty, pre-pubescent violent gamer fan boys are the target audience. Not me.

Before I watched this movie via streaming, I read the reviews here, which were and are pretty favorable. My personal reaction after viewing the movie was it’s boring, and has a vacuous “plot” and one dimensional acting which was not rescued by overblown CG and lots of stuff blowing up. The movie is just dumb, but not campy dumb like the original Asian versions. It was a total waste of a couple of hours time.
