I'd almost given up on reading, as one dross ridden novel followed another. Everyone raved about Finding Endurance, so although I expected to be disappointed, I took the plunge & bought it. I'm so glad I did as I'm just loving it! Brilliant writing, and just wacky enough to keep you intrigued but not so wacky that you roll your eyes & chuck it to one side.

I find it cliched and repetitive, to be honest. The acting is very hammy, but I can't work out whether that is because of the turgid writing or the actors themselves. Anna isn't too bad, but Rachel and Vivian are one dimensional stereotypes. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Although I am not a huge Beatles fan, I think this is a must see. I found the film absolutely heartbreaking. It really is about the brutal murder of innocence/innocents. Just as Altamont was a seminal moment in the death of hippiedom, so Lennon's murder was a seminal moment in the death of hippie hopes and aspirations. Go and watch it!

Disappointing, to be honest. Reviewers described it as "elegiac", amongst other things, but I was not crazy about the writing. The only elegiac thing was her view of the Chrysler Building.
