I don't know who this new Mrs. De Winter is, because she's not the one in the novel. Half the events in the movie didn't happen in the book and contradict the logic of the original plot without attempting to build its own logic. I'm also not terribly sure that the screenwriter really read the book in the first place. Maybe it's based on a 3rd or 4th hand retelling of the story? I only made it halfway before I just started skipping through. My advice? Skip the movie and just reread the novel.
