The most incomprehensible decision-making I've seen from a protagonist maybe ever. No resolution to the ending sequence with the stepmother, or any reasoning for why the random lady from the hospital/resort/random make-out scene just happened to be outside and confused with no reprocussion. The detective that got shivved has the memory of a goldfish apparently, and blindly allies with the girl who just tried to kill him for no good reason. No explanation for the honeymoon photo and why the protagonist wouldn't be a "cuckoo" as thats the only thing to be gleaned from it makes it a fat nothing burger. Absolute waste of time and mental energy to watch this thing. Could have been barely salavaged if everyone except the little kid died at the end as she wandered off into the forest.

This film is a prime example of just let the book be and let the film be. Not everyone will be able to connect with what this entire movie puts before them, but please just take away one simple thing; the strongest and most powerful of us are often the weakest at heart. Quite well done, and got to me at a bit of a core level. Don't think I'll be forgetting this one anytime soon.
