At first I thought it was just going to be a complete retelling of the original plot with different actors but there are enough differences to make it a worthwhile film. A lot of the scenes and a few of the added extras (particularly a weird mutant baboon) are very OTT but I thought generally the action and the acting were certainly enough to keep me entertained.

Season 2 is too bleak and the characters just keep making stupid decisions that no reasonable person would make, even the stupid ones, which just get them deeper and deeper in trouble. The acting is superb, characters are all great (although totally amoral) but the storylines are just too far fetched. Gave up after 2nd episode. Too depressing. And too unbelievable.

Great cast but it’s just like all the other Scorsese “wise guy” movies about that era. Obviously superb acting. First half is great but then I lost interest. And it’s far too long .

Let me start by saying I absolutely love Marvel films and the first Guardians is one of my favourites. I love the mixture if humour and action but to me this film couldn’t quite decide where to pitch itself. There was a bit too much of a contrast between cute animals and jokes, and strong violence with scenes of torture and destruction of civilisations. And some of the scenes (especially the organic planet where everything was squelchy) made me feel quite ill. The humour just didn’t fit with the level of darkness. The sound track was great and effects good but it was all a bit too much for me. Sadly maybe I’ve finally grown out of marvel films.

Felt like I was watching a computer game with an awful script. I pegged who the bad guys were in the first 5 minutes. If you love action films with a really corny script, then this is the film for you

Such a shame. I loved the books and all the characters in them. The timeline was way off. Story wrong. Script very corny. Even the acting wasn’t great. I feel like it started in the middle of the story and then rushed through amalgams of all the books in one film. Why not just stick to the books like the HP series did? Such a waste of a fabulous idea. Looked cool though especially Haven city.

Terrible film. Made no sense and was so cheesy. Good action but basically we’ve seen it all before in all the other Terminator films
