It's an absurd political military comedy with almost too many threads to track. And that's why it's fun. It captures the unpredictable and imperfect balance between rational actions and absolute stupidity of political leaders from different cultures.

This one is so convoluted under the surface you can miss things twice. Even on the third time through I was figuring out subplots. Good casting, acting, story and script. And from a military sense, this could have happened. The Japanese Navy could have pushed through at Pearl Harbor, won Coral Sea and Midway, and we would have sued for peace. Two years earlier, the Axis could have won the battle of Britain, then waited an extra year to concour Russia. They decide to build atomic weapons early and we don't. It was possible if they made no mistakes and we made a bunch.

I have loved this show from day one. The last episode rivals Life on Mars for the biggest finale disappointment. It actually invites a do over. After all of the intrigue and drama getting to the last episode, to fail so completely was stunning. The writers deserve to be fired and never employed again. I will specifically avoid anything they write in the future.
